Aston Martin’s new SUV, has now put the British brand name to what’s arguably the ultimate go-anywhere vehicle.
This marks a new era for the brand with the DBX bringing exceptional performance, style, and usability to the luxury SUV segment. The DBX has been in the works since its virtual development back in 2015. While this is Aston Martin’s first take at how a luxury SUV sports car should be like, it doesn’t pull any punches when it comes to dynamic performance, setting a new standard of what luxury SUVs should be like.
Its entire body is lightweight and stiff, weighing in at about 5,000 pounds. This is due to the use of bonded aluminum, a construction method that Aston Martin has managed to perfect over the years of development. Its cabin is also highly spacious while still maintaining its premium and plush interior for all five occupants.
Under the hood you’ll find a 4-litre, twin-turbocharged V8, which can also be found in the DB 11 as well as the Vantage. It has 542hp and 700Nm of torque, which is carefully tuned to meet the specific needs of the DBX. Seeing as it is a luxury SUV, you can expect the DBX to fly the moment you step on the gas, and you’re not wrong. It has a top speed of 181 mph while going from 0-60 mph in just 4.3 seconds.
All of its seats are trimmed in sumptuous, full-grain leather from its long-term partner, Bridge of Weir. You can also go for the sports car seat option, which will give the front passengers greater support and comfort when it comes to long-distance driving. On the center console, you’ll find the large 10.25-inch sits directly at the center console to give you direct access to the vehicle and its needs while the driver will have an even larger 12.3-inch display. Apple CarPlay comes as standard, as does a 360-degree camera system, and ambient lighting that offers 64 different colors in two zones.
